2026 CSA sign up is open!
Explore our options below and sign up for the model that best fits you.
A Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model is an agreement between farmers and eaters. A CSA member gets a "share" of high quality, delicious food from their local farm. We farmers get revenue at a time of year when it's most helpful and an ability to plan our production more accurately. CSA is shared risk, shared reward. If crops do well, members enjoy that bounty and take home more produce. If crops do poorly, members take home less volume or variety. As CSA farmers, we plan carefully to make sure our members are well fed and get an excellent value. We want to feed you!
Our favorite part of the CSA model is the people. We want you to know and trust the farmers growing your food, and we want to know the folks eating our food! Over the seasons we hope we'll learn what you and your family love to cook and snack on, and which crops we may as well skip. We hope you'll tell us if a lettuce variety wilts too quickly or if your kids love bringing snap peas to school for a snack. Together we'll swap recipes and enjoy the adventures of eating with Vermont's seasons.
Overview
Members pick up their share at the farm once per week. Produce is at peak freshness and a mix of what is ready in the field that week. We grow a wide variety of crops, from your classic garden staples like tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers, to some more novel options like lunchbox peppers and fun heirloom winter squashes. We love to cook and eat and we have kids so we make sure to grow a mix of crops that people like! The volume and variety you take home depends on what share you choose, the season, and your preferences.
Each week you select an assortment of veggies that we harvest specifically for CSA members. We'll have things laid out as a "buffet" of produce types for you to choose from. Walk through and take what looks good! For example, we might offer 2 lbs of roots and you pick out any combination of carrots, beets, potato, and celeriac. If you don't like an item, you don't need to take it.
Sometimes due to constraints with volume or timing, different crops will be available for sale at the farm stand but not in the CSA (or the other way around). Weekly Veggie Share members receive a 5% discount on all products at the farm stand and are welcome to purchase additional products during pick up or any time the farm stand is open. Share prices reflect about a 15% discount from farm stand prices.

Got a sweet tooth? How about a weekly supply of the freshest fruit around! This add-on gets you one unit of fruit (e.g. a pint of berries, a melon, a half gallon of cider) each week over the course of the 19 week season. The goal is to have something available each week, but given the vagaries of weather and pests there may be an occasional week without fruit, in which case multiple units will be available on a future pickup or we will bring in organically grown fruit from friends around the state. 2026 will be heavy on annuals (melons and ground cherries) and brambles (raspberries and black raspberries) but with the potential for some fun surprises (hardy kiwis, plums, gooseberries, etc). $110 for the season. Limited availability.
Our priority is feeding our community good food. If paying the full cost of the share up front is a challenge, reach out to Farmers@TheFarmUpstream.com to talk about a quarterly payment plan.
We are also participating members in NOFA-VT's Farm Share Program! The Farm Share Program provides fresh, local foods to Vermonters in need of financial assistance via CSA shares reduced 25-75% in cost. You can apply on their website. Applications for 2026 NOFA shares will be open February 1 - 28, 2026.
Our farm participates in the NOFA-VT Farm Share Program, This program allows our neighbors having a tough financial time to join our CSA at a reduced cost while still allowing our farm to receive the full dollar value of the food we grow. NOFA will match each dollar that our farm raises to subsidize shares at The Farm Upstream. This is a highly effective way to support local food security. In 2025 we had 5 CSA members receive supported shares and had another 3 families on a wait list who we did not have the funding to subsidize.
Your contribution is tax deductible with a check made out to NOFA-VT with "Farm Upstream" in the memo line, or visit the NOFA donation web page, select "Farm Share" as the campaign, and write "Farm Upstream" in the donor note. NOFA will match the donation and grant it back to our farm,
You can also indicate that you'd like to support the Farm Share Program when you sign up for one of our share options and we will add it to your invoice. The money will end up in the same place but will not be tax-deductible,
Food is a right. Thank you for helping us feed everyone in our community.
