Interested in more native plants for your landscape, but don’t know where to start?
Do you have a new garden bed to fill? Part of the lawn you want to rewild? A forest edge that could use some more color?
Join our inaugural native plant CSA and get discounted pricing and personalized selections!
For 2026 we are partnering with our neighbor Tobi from Bird and Bee Native Plants to offer a native plant CSA! Each share costs $175 and gets you about $200 of plants that we think will thrive in the conditions you describe for us. Each share will consist of 16 flowering perennials (in 4.5”, biodegradable pots) grown by Bird and Bee Native Plants and three flowering shrubs (in one gallon pots) grown by The Farm Upstream. The list below shows some of the species you will get, depending on the site conditions you select. Substitutions will be considered on request, dependent on availability of plants and our time. All plants will be northeast natives, grown without any chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. All shrubs are from Vermont ecotypes.
The plants will be split over two flexible pickups (early June and early September) so we can maximize the diversity we offer and the planting on your end isn’t too overwhelming. Here are our recommendations for site prep and planting.
As an example, a CSA member with a sunny site and average conditions would receive 16 of the following perennials and 3 of the following shrubs, depending on availability and selection to best fit site specifics. Each CSA member will receive a diversity of species that will bloom over the course of the season to provide resources for pollinators in the spring, summer and fall.
